Most Common Pregnancy Symptoms


There are some common pregnancy symptoms that will occur at different times during the term. Many people are aware of some of them, but there are a few that continually get missed off the list. It is important to be aware of everything that you could feel so that you do not feel worried when something does happen.

Common Early Pregnancy Symptoms

There are some early pregnancy symptoms that are extremely common. The most common and probably one of the earliest is a feeling of being tired for no reason. As soon as you conceive your baby, your body is working extra hard. More hormones are also being released into your body, which will also make you feel fatigued. This is a symptom that happens in the first and third trimester. When you get to your second, there are chances that the fatigue wears off and you get your energy back.

Another common early symptom of pregnancy is the pregnancy sickness. This is known as morning sickness but does not always happen then. The sickness can come on at any time of the day or night, and usually happens if you have an empty stomach. This is something that around 85 percent of pregnant women will suffer from so you may be lucky enough to avoid it completely. Most of the time, pregnancy sickness eases off after the first trimester but some women are unlucky to suffer from it the whole time.

Swollen breasts and tender nipples are other common pregnancy symptoms that usually last the entire time. Your body will be going through a lot of changes and many of them happen from the beginning. Your breasts will get ready to lactate so that your baby can breastfeed, so they will grow and become extremely sensitive.

Symptoms Throughout the Pregnancy

Gas and wind are also common pregnancy symptoms that last for the duration of the pregnancy. As well as your breasts enlarging, your uterus will too. The growing baby will also need to take up more space in your body, so your organs will move around to make room. This often leads to your digestive system slowing down and your intestines becoming a problem. Trapped wind is common and can be extremely painful.

As well as gas and wind pains, ligament and muscle pains will also be felt. In fact, these pregnancy symptoms can start as early as week five of pregnancy. Your body will need to prepare for your growing baby, so your uterus will grow. You may find that you feel this pain extremely early on – stretching cramps are perfectly normal and good but if you experience bleeding at the same time, you should speak to your doctor immediately.

Other common pregnancy symptoms include your ligaments and muscles relaxing as well as stretching. Your joints will become looser, which may cause problems when it comes to exercise. You may struggle to run and may need to walk instead. Swimming is an excellent form of exercise if it does come to this, since the water will support your body.
